Penn Forest appoints Tammy Meckes to Park Advisory Board; approves 5K and Minty Miler field request

The Penn Forest Township Board of Supervisors appointed Tammy Meckes to the Park Advisory Board and approved multiple recreation requests at its Sept. 3 meeting.
Supervisor Christian Bartulovich moved, and Supervisor Patrick Holland seconded, to appoint Tammy Meckes to the advisory board; the motion passed by roll-call vote. The board approved additional porta-potties for Fall Fest (Sept. 14) and the cross-country event (Sept. 17) at a cost up to $1,000.
The board approved the Connor Dugan Memorial 5K scheduled for Oct. 6 and amended the agenda to approve a field reservation for The Minty Miler, a one-hour race set for Dec. 14, 2024. Scheduling of fireworks events for July 5, 2025 and July 4, 2026 was tabled for future consideration.
The actions were taken by roll-call votes; the park-related approvals and appointment are effective immediately for event-planning and insurance purposes.
