Dickson County Commission approves budget amendments, road maintenance extension and surplus declaration

The Dickson County Commission met on Nov. 19, 2018, and by unanimous voice votes approved a package of routine motions and three formal resolutions, including county budget amendments, an extension of road maintenance, and a surplus-property declaration.
Resolution 11-2018-01 authorizes certain amendments to all county funds except those established for schools. Commissioner Dwight McIllwain moved to authorize the amendments; the motion passed by a unanimous aye voice vote.
Resolution 11-2018-02 extends county maintenance of West Grab Creek Road (formerly known as King Road) for 2.65 miles to a dead end. Commissioner Jeff Spencer moved the resolution, and Commissioner Dwight McIllwain seconded; the motion passed by a unanimous voice vote.
Resolution 11-2018-03 declares specified county personal property—listed in the minutes as old computer monitors, keyboards, printers, computer towers and other similar equipment—surplus and authorizes sale if possible or disposal if not. Commissioner Randy Simpkins moved the resolution; Commissioner David Shepard seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Other formal actions adopted without recorded opposition included approval of the Oct. 15, 2018 commission minutes (moved by Commissioner Buford Reed and seconded by Commissioner James C. Dawson), approval of the First Quarterly Financial Report—All Funds except Schools (moved by Commissioner Buford Reed, seconded by Commissioner David Shepard), and approval of bonds for Don Hall, Director of Accounts & Budgets, and Constable Tim Cunningham for the 6th District (moved by Commissioner Carl Buckner, seconded by Commissioner Linda Hayes). All motions in the minutes are recorded as passing by unanimous aye voice vote.
The commission deferred the Justice Center pre-spend budget approval to the December meeting and recorded no vote on that item. The meeting adjourned at 7:11 P.M.
