The Spencer City Council on March 26 approved first reading of Ordinance 2026-2 to remove or vacate City Lake Road from the city's official street list. Mayor Farmer said the property had been conveyed to WCUD as part of a merger and the planning commission had recommended the action on Feb. 12, 2026.
Alderman Jill Bouldin moved to approve the measure and Alderman David Chandler seconded. The roll call vote was the same as for other items (Hensley: Yes; Nance: Absent; Campbell: Absent; Chandler: Yes; Bouldin: Yes) and the motion passed.
The action on first reading advances the ordinance through the council process; the transcript does not record further implementation steps or a final effective date.
