Spencer approves new city logo; mayor reports capital outlay note signed and playground equipment ordered

The Spencer City Council on Nov. 20 approved a new city logo and heard mayoral updates on capital financing and park improvements.
Mayor Farmer presented a logo developed by Tennessee Tech University for use on the city website, letterhead and municipal trucks. Alderman Darrell Nance moved to approve the logo; Alderman Jill Bouldin seconded. The motion passed with Aldermen Nance, Chandler and Bouldin voting yes; Hensley and Campbell were absent.
In his report the mayor said a Capital Outlay Note was signed Nov. 10, invoices have been paid and the city is awaiting cancelled checks to submit reimbursement requests. He said playground equipment has been ordered and should arrive in December, and that the purchase price includes installation. Mayor Farmer invited the council to a TDTD check presentation on Dec. 1 at 11 a.m.
The mayor briefly took the meeting into executive session and then returned to regular session; the meeting was adjourned on a motion by Alderman Chandler. No public comments were recorded during the meeting.
