Residents ask about Phipps Bend energy project and urge enforcement on overgrown lots

Board members advised the resident to contact the Industrial Board and Hawkins County because the project is outside Surgoinsville town limits; no further town action on the project was recorded in the minutes.
A resident identified as Tim urged the town to enforce ordinances relating to overgrown properties, calling the site he referenced an eyesore. Police Chief Hammonds told the board the property owner had been notified and said the town’s Maintenance Department can proceed with mowing the location.
