Kitsap Planning Commission adopts agenda, defers minutes and adjourns

At its Aug. 20, 2024 meeting the Kitsap County Planning Commission adopted the agenda by unanimous consent, deferred adoption of several prior meeting minutes, heard public comment and adjourned by unanimous consent at 7:19 p.m.; no substantive votes were taken on land-use matters.
The Kitsap County Planning Commission convened virtually on Aug. 20, 2024. Chair Joe Phillips opened the meeting, commissioners and staff introduced themselves and the agenda was adopted by unanimous consent. Minutes for multiple prior meetings (March 26, April 2, April 16 and May 21, 2024) were deferred to the next meeting.
The commission held two public-comment periods during the meeting. Commenters included Bill Palmer (president, Kitsap Alliance of Property Owners), who raised concerns about study costs and tree-preservation proposals, Mike Garrett who commented on sea-level-rise impacts and saltwater intrusion, and Beverly Parksons from Hansville who urged stronger tree protections.
The meeting ended by unanimous consent at 7:19 p.m. Minutes were approved on Sept. 17, 2024 and signed by Acting Planning Commission Chair Alan Beam and Planning Commission Clerk Amanda Walston.
