County receives 2024 annual reports and confirms committee appointments

Marquette County department heads presented 2024 annual reports at the May 20 meeting and the board voted to place the reports on file.
Presenters included Mandy Stanley (Human Services), Brian Trebiatowski (Highway), Jean Potter and Megan Stalker (Planning, Zoning & Land Information), Kris Bergh (CVSO), Shari Rudolph (Clerk of Court), Lt. Aaron Williams (Emergency Management), Dan Buchholz (IT/MIS), Paul Van Treeck (Buildings & Grounds), and Pat Kilbey (Land & Water; Parks & Rural Planning). The board moved to place the presented annual reports on file (motion by Benson/Fenner).
The consent agenda approved several appointments: Tim Jozwiak (citizen rep), Ken Borzick (board rep) and Chuck Bornhoeft (board rep) to the Human Services Board (terms to expire 5/2028); Kathy Grant (citizen rep), Peggy Krause (board rep) and Mary Walters (board rep) to the ADRC Advisory Committee (terms to expire 5/2028); Gerald Hebert to the Veterans Service Commission (term to expire 6/2028); and Gary Douda (business citizen rep) to the Parks and Rural Planning Committee (term to expire 7/2027). Supervisor Chuck Bornhoeft recorded an abstention on the consent vote.
Chairperson Borzick noted a Certificate of Appreciation will be mailed to Michelle LaPorte, who could not attend in person. Administrator Ron Barger reported borrowing funds were received May 12, 2025 and said strategic planning will continue in June, with workshop results highlighting tourism and fiscal management. Corporation Counsel Natalie Bussan shared her April report and announced she will resign effective June 30, 2025. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
