The Marquette County Board of Supervisors voted May 20 to adopt three zoning ordinance amendments affecting parcels in the Towns of Newton and Buffalo.
The board approved Resolution No. 29‑2025, which rezones approximately 6.0 acres in Section 14, T17N R09E, Town of Newton, to AG‑3(5) (Agricultural Residential). The measure was introduced by Supervisors David Benson and John Bennett and followed a Planning and Zoning Committee public hearing and recommendation to the board.
The board also adopted Resolutions No. 30‑2025 and 31‑2025 addressing multiple parcels in the Town of Buffalo. Resolution 30‑2025 rezoned roughly 43.13 acres in Section 23, T14N R10E to a mix of AG‑3(2), AG‑3(4) and FPO classifications. Resolution 31‑2025 rezoned approximately 40.00 acres in Section 18, T14N R10E to AG‑3(2) and FPO. Both Buffalo items were introduced by Supervisors Dave Benson, John Bennett and Kathy Jo Locke, and the board found the proposed rezoning consistent with applicable town and county comprehensive plans.
All three zoning amendments were included in the consent agenda the board approved. There were no recorded roll‑call objections to these measures when the consent bundle adopting Resolutions 29‑2025 through 33‑2025 passed.
The county clerk will update the county zoning map and ordinances to reflect the adopted amendments.
