The Hart Board of Education on Sept. 15 unanimously approved the meeting agenda, several personnel contracts and a nomination for a regional parent advisory council representative during a meeting called to order by Chad Coker at 6:00 p.m. in the Pirate Learning Center.
The largely procedural session covered approvals that the board said were presented as a package. Mike Barefoot, a board member, moved to "approve the Board Agenda as presented," and Andy Carter seconded; the motion passed 7-0. The board also approved minutes from an Aug. 26 special meeting after a motion by Steve Riley, seconded by Kayla Dennert, and voted to pay the district's bills following a motion by Dennert and a second from Riley, both votes unanimous.
The board cleared a series of action items on the agenda. Steve Riley moved and Mike Barefoot seconded approval of Form L-4029 as presented, which passed 7-0. Kayla Dennert moved to "approve Madison Richards as the PAC representative for HPS, as presented," a nomination seconded by Irma Hinojosa that the board approved unanimously. The board also approved a contract for Madison Boundy as Student Success Coordinator at HMS (motion by Steve Riley, seconded by Irma Hinojosa) and accepted updated contracts for Jason Gale, Phil DeBrot, Rob O'Neil and Pete Kapala after a motion by Andy Carter and a second from Mike Barefoot; all motions passed 7-0. Board members then approved the HTA letter of agreement on a motion from Mike Barefoot, seconded by Andy Carter.
Public comment was opened but there were no speakers. The meeting lasted about three minutes and was adjourned at 6:03 p.m. on a motion from Kayla Dennert that Chad Coker seconded.
Action items were procedural and passed unanimously; no substantive debate or public testimony on the items was recorded in the meeting transcript.
