The White Pine Town Council on Sept. 3 unanimously adopted a slate of routine measures, including a revision to building permit fees and a rezoning to clear the way for a Quick Trip market on Highway 25E.
Ordinance #10-24, which updates the town’s building permit fees, passed on a motion from Mr. Marshall with a second from Mr. Sinard. Later in the meeting, on a motion from Mr. Woods and a second from Mrs. Strom, the council approved Ordinance #11-24 rezoning the Wallace property on Highway 25E from C‑2 to C‑3 to accommodate the Quick Trip market. The public hearing on that rezoning produced no public comment and was adjourned at 7 p.m.
The council also approved Resolution #24-6 to accept the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) grant contract and the additional funds attached to it, following a motion by Mrs. Strom and a second from Mr. Marshall. Other formal actions taken without dissent included approval of the August 6, 2024 meeting minutes, the August 6 public hearing minutes and the August 6 beer board minutes. The board voted unanimously to hire Chris Edmonds and Garrett English as full‑time police officers, and to pay the town’s bills as presented.
Most votes were taken by motion and recorded as unanimous. No roll‑call tallies with individual member votes were provided in the transcript.
