The Deep River Conservation and Inland Wetlands Commission on May 14 voted unanimously to accept an application from homeowners Ted Goldberg and Jacqueline Granados to renovate a four‑bedroom dwelling at 38 Brockway Ferry Road and to install a new 16‑by‑36‑foot in‑ground pool, a raised terrace and a replacement septic system within the upland review area. Caroline Nanai of Indigo Land Design presented the proposal to the commission.
Nanai told the commission the property sits at the end of Brockway Ferry Road adjacent to a strip of town‑owned land and that most proposed work is in the upland review area; the proposed pool is outside the upland area but the existing septic is located where the pool is proposed. Silt fencing is proposed to run around the work area. The transcript records that the proposal was sent to DEEP NDDB for review and contains a recorded notation described as a “negative impacts” finding; the commission did not provide further clarification at the meeting.
Commissioner Susan Board moved to accept the application for review; Carol Libby seconded and the motion carried 6‑0. The commission will take formal action on the application at its June meeting. No public comments were recorded during the presentation.
