Pinnacle updates council on pavilion renovation, greens work and membership demand at Tega Cay golf course

Tega Cay — Representatives from Pinnacle briefed the City Council on Jan. 28 about several near-term improvements at the municipal golf course, including a pavilion renovation, new cart paths and green reconstructions.
Pinnacle said the pavilion renovation is underway and the golf shop has temporarily moved into the tennis building; staff expect to move back into the renovated pavilion by mid- to late April, weather permitting. The company also described cart-path overlay work: tree work slated to finish Feb. 23 and Eddie Smith and Sons scheduled to begin laying new cart paths on the Pines nine on Feb. 23 with the main 18 expected to have new cart paths by mid-March.
Pinnacle outlined plans to rebuild greens and surrounds on holes 10 and 18 starting in March and anticipated completion by mid-July, with temporary greens used while surfaces grow in. The presenter emphasized the work is being paid from the golf reserve account without bonding or loans. Membership data shared with council showed a cap of 185 members, a waiting list of 94 (73 residents, 21 non-residents) and a recent record fiscal year for the club.
Council thanked Pinnacle and city staff for facilitating the moves and construction; staff said they would remain available to answer follow-up questions.
