Select Board approves alcohol and dealer licenses; conditions Stagecoach Auto Repair license on conservation compliance

The Charlemont Select Board reviewed and approved the town’s annual alcohol licenses and multiple Class II and III auto dealer licenses at its Dec. 16 meeting.
Valentine Reid moved to approve the alcohol licenses listed on the agenda; Kim Blakeslee seconded and the board approved them unanimously. The board then considered Class II and III licenses for local auto businesses. The board approved licenses for Matts Automotive, Rae Leasing LLC, Franks Auto Sales and Jeffrey A. Sparda and held one application (Stagecoach Auto Repair, 180 Rte. 8A North) for further discussion.
Valentine Reid read a letter from Conservation Commission member Thorne Palmer noting progress on removing cars from a resource area. After discussing evidence of good-faith remediation efforts, the board approved Stagecoach’s Class II license on condition that the business continue to work with the Conservation Commission to satisfy the enforcement order.
The board also approved payroll and vendor warrants, and other routine administrative items during the meeting. No public objections to the licenses were recorded in the minutes.
