Select Board clears Sea Shanty Shindig, school prom and summer farm events with conditions

Glenn Pratt presented the Cohasset Historical Society's Sea Shanty Shindig, describing it as the third annual event with “music, food trucks, and historical demonstrations” that is well attended by young families. The board approved the event permit, entertainment permit and a one‑day liquor license for Sept. 4, 2026, with an amendment that the event end at 8:00 p.m.
Ryan Costa spoke on behalf of the Cohasset Yacht Club to update officers and directors; the board approved the additions of Grace Evans (Rear Commodore), Maren Bradley (Clerk) and Brian Baker (Fleet Captain).
Chief Quigley and Diedre Murry outlined traffic and safety plans for Cohasset High School's Red Carpet Prom on May 22, 2026; Chief Quigley said he has a standing plan to block traffic around the common and recommended approval. The board approved the event and entertainment permits.
For Friends of Holly Hill Farm, Chief Quigley said he “anticipates no issues with 90 guests expected” for the Farm to Table Dinner on July 18, 2026; the board approved a one‑day liquor license for 6:00–10:00 p.m. The board also approved the Farm Fest event permit and one‑day liquor license for Sept. 26, 2026; Chief Quigley said organizers will shuttle guests from Sandy Beach and coordinate with the beach association for attendees without an RTF permit.
A common victualler application for Q and L Food Company d/b/a Black Cat Breakfast and Bakery (166 King Street) was deferred to allow confirmation of any additional required permits.
