Mr. Lewis says construction projects progressing; formal July update planned

Mr. Lewis briefed the board on multiple construction projects across the district and said work remains on schedule despite some weather-related delays.
"We are still on track to have everything completed," Mr. Lewis said, adding that pressure and compression testing showed the transportation lot did not require full removal while the front parking lot did. He said crews have started the walkway up the hill to the A building and are making "pretty good progress" on track and field improvements.
Mr. Lewis noted the existing track was nearly 20 years old and that tracks typically have a 10- to 12-year life expectancy, so the district is addressing subsurface issues. He told the board he will provide a more formal, detailed update at the July 13 meeting.
No formal action or vote was taken on construction at this meeting; Mr. Lewis offered to answer community questions in the central office and said he would deliver the scheduled July update.
