Hillman council approves staff pay increases, accepts bid for surplus vehicle

The Village of Hillman council voted Dec. 15 to approve a set of personnel pay changes, accept a bid for a surplus vehicle and complete routine business. President Dave Hornbacher opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. and the council approved the agenda, minutes and payment of bills by unanimous votes.
The council approved a motion to raise Manager Dave Post's gross pay to $1,675.22 every two weeks, which Hornbacher said restores Post to full-time pay. Trustees also voted to raise the village's minimum wage to $13.73 per hour, matching the state increase, and approved $1.00-per-hour raises for employee Emma Niswonger and Clerk Ann Williams. Each motion was moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and passed unanimously.
