"We was awarded the grant to fix Big Cedar Road," Justin said during the meeting. He said the county's 25% match would be $377,493 (as stated in the session) and proposed splitting the match between the two accounts.
Council members discussed the request and also approved moving $100,000 from the local wheel/insert tax into engineering design fees for Levy Road Bridge (Bridge 49) to begin work in 2026 with construction planned for 2027. A motion by Dean McQueen to accept Resolution 2026-10 with the modified amounts passed with no recorded opposition.
The action updates county spending plans for multiple transportation-related funds and follows routine grant-management practice: staff secured outside funding and the council adjusted local appropriations to meet the required match. Council members praised interdepartmental cooperation that helped secure the grant and finalize the match plan.
