Chicopee trustees schedule March assessment of aging Bookmobile

Chicopee Public Library trustees learned on Feb. 9 that the library has arranged a no-cost assessment of its Bookmobile with Moroney Monolight Bookmobiles, the original manufacturer.
Library Director Laura Bovee said the vehicle, now eleven years old, will be inspected in Worcester on March 6. Trustees asked staff to request a global assessment of the vehicle and to pay special attention to the roof, generator, carpeting, wheelchair lift and a small leak near the top of the patron door.
The assessment is intended to identify repairs or maintenance needed to extend the Bookmobile’s service life; findings will be reported to the Trustees at the March meeting and will inform any repair or replacement planning.
