Lef Parish School Board honors principals and school support employees at November meeting

The Lef Parish School Board opened its Nov. 19 meeting by honoring administrators and school support staff across the district, announcing individual school winners and naming overall division winners.
Mr. Martin announced the Principal of the Year and Miss Hodson and other presenters read the list of school support employees recognized from multiple campuses, including Hannah Henry (Bayou Blue Elementary), Emily D. Rash (Bayou Blue Upper Elementary), Felicia Hill (Central Leaf High School) and Colette Alam (Career Magnet Center). The board also named Emily Dash as the district’s overall elementary winner, Lucy Dilier as the middle school winner and Colette Alam as the overall high school winner.
Board members thanked the honorees for behind-the-scenes work that supports classroom instruction. "So many behind-the-scenes heroes make school possible," one board member said, adding that support staff roles are "deeply appreciated." The recognitions were followed by applause and short remarks from several board members.
The ceremony concluded before the board moved on to consent and action items. No formal votes were required to recognize the honorees.
