Select Board approves LIP application for 1 Summer Street affordable units after questions about parking and snow removal

The Select Board voted to approve a Local Initiative Program (LIP) application that would allow local action units (LAU) for affordable housing at 1 Summer Street. The motion authorized the chair to sign required documents and to execute any follow‑up materials; digital signatures were permitted.
Board members questioned the developer about parking allocation, handicap parking placement and snow‑removal plans for the compact rear lot. The developer said parking is first‑come and not assigned to individual units, handicap spaces are on the back (Acton) side of the building and snow removal will be handled by the owner using equipment and designated snow‑dump locations. The developer also said affordable units will be comparable in layout and quality to market units and that the project had already passed planning board review and special‑permit requirements.
After discussion the board approved the motion without recorded opposition.
