Mayor John P. Ardoin called the Town of Port Barre Mayor and Board of Aldermen/Alderwoman to order at 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2025, and the council moved to accept the minutes from the July 1 meeting. A motion by Donalo Robin, seconded by Sammy W- Hardy II, carried unanimously to accept and dispense with the reading of the minutes.
The council received routine departmental reports. Chief Boudreaux presented the monthly police department activities to the council, summarizing recent calls and department work. Mayor Ardoin then invited a representative to speak on behalf of Superintendent Greg Leger, who provided an update on public works activities.
Parks and Recreation Director Kyla Rivette was absent due to illness; Mayor Ardoin reported that youth league flag football registration has begun and Alderman Gregory P. Hardy gave a brief recap of the 12‑U Allstar playoffs. Following the updates, Sammy W‑Hardy II moved, and Gregory P. Hardy seconded, a motion to accept the financial and departmental reports. The motion was recorded as unanimous.
The council did not record further formal action on the departmental reports at this meeting. The session continued with general discussion and public input before the council adjourned.
