Council approves Conditional Use Permit and final plat, advances zoning change to allow schools in commercial zones

The motion carried 7-0 with Peterson absent.
The council also authorized Resolution 2026-050 approving Pearson's Subdivision Replat 1 final plat in Dodge County, Nebraska; that motion also passed 7-0 (Peterson absent).
On Ordinance 5734, council held first reading of a zoning text amendment to allow Primary and Secondary Education uses in the General Commercial (GC) zoning district with approval of a conditional use permit. Council then voted to suspend the rules and move the ordinance to final reading; the minutes record the motion passed 7-0. The minutes do not record whether final adoption occurred beyond the motion to move to final reading.
These items were approved with unanimous votes among members present and no recorded public opposition in the minutes.
