The Business Improvement District board met Feb. 17, 2026, at the Fremont Art Association and approved the minutes from its Jan. 20 meeting before hearing operational updates and scheduling follow-ups.
Tom Coday, chair, called the meeting to order at 12:07 p.m. and confirmed a quorum. Howard Krasne, a board member, moved to accept the Jan. 20 minutes; Lindi Janulewicz seconded the motion, which passed 5-0.
Krasne reported that new benches have been received and said the city will install them according to the city's timeline; the board took no formal action on installation. Members discussed marketing grants but deferred further decisions, agreeing to revisit the topic at the next meeting.
On downtown parking lots, the board was told the city is mostly on schedule to receive bids. The city plans to solicit bids that include screening and walls but anticipates the screening component will be costly; the board did not take action.
A financial report was provided, and the Marketing, Future Project and Design committees reported no updates. Lainey Paquette of MainStreet delivered the MainStreet report and announced a MainStreet Chamber Coffee on March 17 at 9:00 a.m.
Howard Krasne moved to adjourn at 12:45 p.m.; Daniel Cech seconded and the motion carried 5-0. The board set its next meeting for March 17, 2026, at 92 West 6th Street.
This meeting record notes that a copy of the Open Meeting Act was available in the room for inspection.
