Fremont council authorizes $1.41 million in contracts and AMI meter purchase

The Fremont City Council on Feb. 24 approved a set of contracts and purchases totaling $1,407,129.00.
Resolutions recorded in the minutes include: • Resolution 2026-042: Authorizing a contract with Mauer Fence Company, LLC to provide and install Christensen Field ballfield fencing, backstops and dugouts in a not-to-exceed amount of $324,000. The motion passed 7-0 (Peterson absent). • Resolution 2026-046: Authorizing Utility Staff to sign the quote and issue a purchase order for additional electric meters for the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system in the amount of $782,351.90. The motion passed 7-0 (Peterson absent). • Resolution 2026-043: Authorizing the Mayor to sign the contract for the 2026 Pavement Rehab Project with C-R Menn Concrete, LLC in the amount of $300,777.10. The motion passed 7-0 (Peterson absent).
Each resolution was moved, seconded and recorded with yea votes by Jensen, Ganem, Vaughan, Lathrop, Marsh, Horner and Von Behren. The minutes do not record extended debate or public comment on these procurements.
The council also approved a consent-agenda purchase of four encrypted Motorola portable police radios for $34,460.72 under a separate consent item.
