Two annual reports highlighted community amenities and downtown investment.
Laura England Biggs, library director, corrected a typographical error in the staff report and said programming attendance rose to 21,784 (from 9,920 reported for 2024), the library ran 5,774 programs, added over 1,000 new borrowers, hosted about 1,200 meetings and saw circulation exceed 200,000 items in the most recent year after reopening and an expansion project.
Laney Pquette, executive director of Main Street of Fremont, reported downtown reinvestment of approximately $391,062 in 2025, funded through a mix of grants and private match including CDBG-assisted façade projects; the district welcomed five new businesses that generated about 17 new jobs and organized roughly 15 events with about 12,500 attendees. Council praised both reports and moved to receive them.
No formal actions beyond receiving the reports were taken.
