Staff said the additional costs are close to anticipated budget levels and represent roughly a 1–1.5% variance from expectations, and that the shortfall will be managed by re-aligning project budgets or other methods.
Council members asked clarifying questions about the scope and whether the increase doubled the project; staff responded that the overall numbers remain in line with prior approvals and that the council will need to manage shortfalls by shifting funds or similar steps. The resolution was moved and seconded and approved during the meeting.
