The Denison City Council approved several procurement items on July 1, accepting vendor estimates and invoices for public-safety equipment, public works machinery and software services.
Approved items included MacQueen mobile data terminals for $13,166.58 and SCBA cylinders for $11,483.76, a Deep Trekker sonar-integration quote for $11,037.93, and a Bobcat T66 T4 compact track loader for $71,033.22. The council also approved a gWorks data-pull agreement not to exceed $36,000, to be paid from capital improvements, and approved a JF General Construction invoice for aquatic center drain repairs for $4,374.86.
Council discussed a purchase order from Vetter Equipment for a 2025 Cub Cadet PROZ commercial mower priced at $15,911.84. Councilmembers requested additional quotes and voted 4-1 to table the PO (ayes: Logan, Zupp-Smith, Granzen, Miller; nay: Curnyn). The motion to table was made by Logan and seconded by Zupp-Smith.
The council also approved an increase to the Property and Liability cyber liability limit conditioned on the umbrella not providing coverage and approved other routine capital payments and change orders recorded in the meeting minutes.
Next steps: staff will obtain additional mower quotes and return the item to a future meeting for a final purchase decision.
