Lago Vista council unanimously backs support resolution for Lomond/Lohman Ford corridor study

The Lago Vista City Council approved Resolution 26‑2193 supporting Travis County’s application to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s 2028–2031 call for projects for the Lomond/Lohman Ford corridor study.
Victor, a city staffer who briefed the council, told members the resolution ‘‘does not commit the city to construction, design or any funding’’ and is limited to making the city eligible to be considered for planning resources related to the Lomond/Lohman Ford corridor. Councilmember Prince moved to adopt the resolution, and Mayor Som called the question. The mayor declared the motion approved unanimously.
The resolution is intended to position Lago Vista to participate in a study that would evaluate corridor improvements; it does not authorize expenditure or design work. Victor said the study remains preliminary and that the city retains full discretion to ‘‘communicate and express our concerns’’ during any later design or funding stages.
The council did not amend the resolution and took no related budgetary action during the meeting. Staff indicated they would track next steps in the CAMPO process and return to council if formal commitments, matching funds or design decisions are later proposed.
