Legislative audit finds presentation errors in earlier AFR but reports no current findings at Louisiana Delta Community College

Joe Waren, presenting the legislative audit material, said the AFR review found "audit findings related to inaccurate AFR presentation" that stemmed from paper entries that had not been adequately reviewed. "They got hit for that," Waren said of the prior report, and he added that in subsequent reporting Delta shows no current findings.
Waren described Delta as one of the stronger financially healthy colleges in the system, attributing improved reserves in part to federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HERF) dollars that provided flexibility for colleges to bolster reserves. The committee heard that the system performs an annual fiscal health index comparing cash balances and operating budgets to rank colleges' reserve positions.
No policy actions were taken at the meeting on the legislative audit item; committee members asked clarifying questions and received the report for their review.
