Council grants street closures for River Day and 'Show and Shine' car events, delegates logistics to staff

Separately, the council approved the Country Cruisers Car Club request for street closures on June 12 and Aug. 7, 2026, for the group's show-and-shine events from 4 to 9 p.m., with the expectation organizers notify affected businesses. Councilors emphasized the need for adequate notification and coordination with the police and streets departments for safety and parking accommodations.
