Beer board approves temporary beer permit for Habitat for Humanity fundraiser

The Chattanooga Beer Board voted to approve a temporary beer permit for a fundraising reception hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga.
Jeff Gear, representing Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga, said the fundraiser is scheduled for Sept. 24 at First Horizon Pavilion and will include corporate partners and individual donors as part of the organization's work to promote homeowner financial stability. "We'll be having guests from all throughout the city, corporate partners, individual donors," Gear said, describing plans to rope off the pavilion exterior and direct traffic with linen drapes.
Board members asked about operations, including ID checks and site control. Zoning staff member Zach told the board that although three applications were still awaiting zoning sign-off during a training rollout, this application could be signed off immediately: "We should have that today," Zach said.
A motion to approve the permit (recorded in the meeting as BeerTE142) was moved and seconded. The chair called the roll and recorded affirmative responses from the membership (Betsy; Reginald; Jamie; Veronica; Christie; Zach; and the chair), and the board approved the permit. The chair closed the item by wishing the applicant luck with the event.
The board did not record any conditions on the permit in the meeting record; zoning sign-off was reported as forthcoming. The board moved on to other permit applications after approval.
