The Hinsdale Select Board unanimously approved a series of consent items and municipal policies at its Jan. 5 meeting at Hinsdale Town Hall.
Chairman Steve Diorio called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the Board then took up routine business. Selectman Mike Carrier moved to approve the manifests for Dec. 29, 2025 and Jan. 5, 2026 and the public and non-public minutes of Dec. 22, 2025; Selectman William Hodgman seconded and the motion passed 3–0 (Diorio, Carrier, Hodgman).
Among consent actions the Board approved a 2025 tax abatement for Asheley Ave. Property LLC (Map 20-25-26-1) for $6,120, described as resulting from an error on the A-5 (Land Use Change Tax) form. The Board also approved a Notice of Intent to Excavate for Renaud (Brattleboro Road, Map 19/19) and a Notice of Intent to Cut wood/timber on Map 13 Lot 1 (Tower Hill Road) for Hertel by Parenti.
The Board approved a 2025 abatement for Tom Blaney (37 Gunner Way) for $38.00, with the minutes noting there was nothing on site to be taxed, and a 2024 abatement for Edward Stuart (22 Hancock Street) for $138.96 to correct interest charged after a bill was sent to a prior owner. All votes on these items were 3–0 in favor.
The Board also adopted three facility renter policies — 2025-07 (Town Hall Renters), 2025-08 (Community Center Renters) and 2025-09 (Heritage Park Renters) — on a final read after Ann presented the last policy review materials; Hodgman moved to approve and Carrier seconded the motion, which passed 3–0.
The meeting record shows all formal motions in the consent bundle were moved and seconded and approved by the three members present.
