Select Board members were briefed on grant activity and federal funding outreach during the March 23 meeting.
Josh Green told the board he submitted an application for a $212,000 Water/Wastewater Treatment Infrastructure grant. Town Administrator Kathryn Lynch also reported a positive contact from U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s office about Congressional spending to support a phased fire department project; Lynch said the minimal amount the town would request is in the $1 million to $2 million range. Lynch noted that USDA 'Congressional Direct' funding was described as requiring a 25% local match.
The board did not make a final funding commitment for the fire department project at the meeting; staff indicated further follow-up as the grant application process proceeds and as office responses are clarified.
