Hinsdale Select Board approves excavation notice, veteran's tax credit, rentals and fundraiser; moves to nonpublic personnel session

The Hinsdale Select Board on Monday approved several routine items and moved into a nonpublic personnel session during a meeting at Hinsdale Town Hall.
Chairman Steve Diorio convened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. and Selectman Mike Carrier moved to approve the manifest for March 9, 2026, along with the public and nonpublic minutes of March 4, 2026; Selectman Bernie Rideout seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The board then took up four new-business motions, all approved unanimously: Selectman Rideout moved to approve a Notice to Excavate for Corse Excavating LLC for work on Meetinghouse Road (Map 30, Lot 70), seconded by William Hodgman; Hodgman moved to approve a Permanent Application for Property Tax Credit #03092026A (Veteran’s Tax Credit), seconded by Rideout; Rideout moved to approve a Town Hall facility rental request from Elissa Zavorotny for March 12 or March 19, seconded by Carrier; and Hodgman moved to approve a fundraiser for the Mt. Pisgah ATV Club, seconded by Carrier. Each motion was recorded as passing unanimously.
During public comment, members of the public present—Sean Leary, Ann Diorio and Bob Truesdell—offered brief remarks but raised no substantive items for board action. Later in the meeting, Ann Diorio presented a set of historical minutes for the board to consider for unsealing. Carrier moved to unseal minutes from 11-3-2014 through 12-12-2016 except for minutes dated 8-5-2014, 7-11-2016 and 7-25-2016, which the board voted to keep sealed; Rideout seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Diorio said she and Leary are working to update and categorize town policies on the Hinsdale website and asked that the board review materials via email.
At 6:15 p.m. Diorio asked for a motion to enter a nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:5, citing personnel; Selectman William Hodgman moved to enter nonpublic session, Carrier seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board returned and Carrier moved to adjourn at 6:22 p.m.; Rideout seconded, and the adjournment was approved unanimously.
