Todd Kilanski, representing Rolling Thunder NH3, told the Hinsdale Select Board the veterans' organization meets monthly at the Community Center and helps local veterans and efforts to locate MIA personnel. Kilanski said the group would like to pursue naming the bridge over Route 63 (south), located across from the VFW, the "POW MIA Bridge," and would research the state process required for such a dedication.
Selectman Mike Carrier moved that the Board support the group’s proceeding with the process; Selectman Bernie Rideout seconded the motion, and votes were recorded as Diorio—aye; Carrier—aye; Rideout—aye; Hodgman—aye. The Board's vote authorized Rolling Thunder to check state procedures and, if applicable, plan a ceremony.
Kilanski also described a planned 'Missing Man Table' display to educate the public about POW and MIA service members; he cited the figure 80,088 when referring to current accounting of missing personnel. The group has displayed the table at local businesses and plans additional temporary or permanent displays. Rolling Thunder said it will return with any state-required documentation and a proposed timeline if the State process allows the dedication.
The Board thanked the organization for its work and voted to support the next steps. There was no formal commitment of town funds at the meeting; Rolling Thunder will pursue the procedural steps with the State and return with specifics as needed.
