RAYVILLE, La. — The Richland Parish School Board met Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, and approved the Jan. 13 regular meeting minutes before publishing them in the official journal. Mrs. Emily Ogden moved to approve the minutes, and Mrs. Linda Jones seconded the motion; the board recorded unanimous support with one member absent.
The board used the session to recognize a string of honorees across the district. Karsyn Island was named February Student of the Month and Bud Yates was named Employee of the Month. The board also recognized Jamal Fountain, a DHS student, for receiving the GODA award, and honored multiple teachers: Terrance Robinson (RES) as Parish Elementary New Teacher of the Year; Jenna Payne (SES) as Parish Junior High New Teacher of the Year; Anna Stephenson (MHS) as Parish High School Teacher of the Year; Miranda Harrison (MJHS) as Junior High Teacher of the Year; and Taylor Roberts (MES) as Parish Elementary Teacher of the Year. Timothy Zuber was recognized as Parish Support Person of the Year, and bus drivers Johnny Cleveland (Delhi), Noel Lawson (Holly Ridge), Lametress Rogers (Start), Sharon Rhodes (Mangham) and Willie Anderson (Rayville) were named Bus Drivers of the Year, with Anderson singled out as Parish Bus Driver of the Year.
Later in the meeting Mr. Reed Trisler moved and Rev. William Cleveland seconded a resolution to approve School Board Member Training; the motion carried with all voting in favor and one member absent. The board also received routine monthly reports, including the personnel chart, the school lunch monthly financial statement, the sales tax revenue statement and the general fund monthly financial statement.
Mrs. Marie Lewis moved to adjourn and Dr. Georgia Ineichen seconded; the motion carried and the meeting was adjourned. The minutes are certified by Superintendent Sheldon Jones and Board President Chris Pruitt.
