Madison District board asks Oakland Schools ISD to place regional enhancement millage on August ballot; votes to enter closed session

Trustee Mary Harp moved that the board adopt the resolution as presented. During debate, Trustee Mark Kimble said, "as a taxpayer I'm against any increases and any more taxes. So I will be voting no on this." In a roll-call vote the board recorded: Rebecca Chamblas — Yes; Carlos Harp — Yes; Mary Hart — Yes; Cindy Holder — No; Mark Kimble — No; Gloria Thompson — Yes. The motion passed, 4–2.
Later in the meeting President Jesse Kumble moved that the board enter a closed session to discuss contract negotiations and legal opinion. The motion was seconded and approved by roll call with all recorded votes in favor. The board recessed to closed session at approximately 7:10 p.m.
