Mayor Debbie Walker announced community heat-relief services and summer recreation hours, saying, “the Old Bridge Public Library will be a cooling center, a charging station, and a hydration station.”
The library’s posted hours will be Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Sundays, 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information the mayor directed residents to call 211, text their ZIP code to 898211, or visit the township’s recreation webpage and contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 732-721-5600 ext. 4999.
When the library is closed, including the coming weekend, Walker said the police lobby area can be used as an alternate cooling center. She also reminded residents that the spray park at Catrell Farm Park is open daily through Labor Day from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The announcement was a townwide reminder of available resources as summer temperatures rise; municipal offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.
