Hampstead Selectboard authorizes RFPs for plumbing, electrical and HVAC services

At the June 22 meeting the Hampstead Selectboard authorized Town Administrator Michael Carrier to issue consolidated requests for proposals for plumbing, electrical and HVAC services covering municipal buildings.
Carrier said the town hopes to consolidate vendors to achieve cost savings and would seek one- or two-year contracts. Selectman Joseph Guthrie moved to allow issuance of the RFPs; Selectman Laurie Warnock seconded the motion. The motion passed on a roll-call vote in which all five selectmen voted yes. Carrier said the bids will be opened at the Selectboard meeting on July 27.
What this means: The town will solicit proposals for bundled building-maintenance services and return with bids for Selectboard review at the July 27 meeting. The board did not adopt contract awards at the June 22 meeting; award decisions will follow the RFP process and bidder review.
