At its May 11 meeting Broadview Heights City Council adopted a series of resolutions and motions covering utility policy, city contracts, grant acceptance and community support.
Resolutions passed included 2026-62 (opposing Enbridge Gas Ohio's distribution-rate increase request), 2026-63 (appreciation to Travis Dunlap for Shade Tree Commission service), 2026-64 (authorize fireworks contract for Home Days and Tree Lighting), 2026-65 (Verizon wireless products and services agreement), 2026-66 (participation in Cuyahoga County contract with United Survey for sewer maintenance), 2026-67 (pump station roof replacement, Campo Roofing), 2026-68 (police station roof replacement, Campo Roofing), and Ordinance 12-2026 (accept NOPEC 2026 Energized Community Grant funds). Each item was adopted after suspension of council rules and unanimous roll-call votes.
Council also approved motions to donate $10,000 to the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Community Awareness and Prevention Association (CAPA), authorize sale of alcohol at specified city events from June 1 to Sept. 30, 2026, and accept the Planning Commission recommendation approving Vocon for the Ken Ganley Companies (PC Case No. 2026-04). All motions passed by unanimous roll call.
Votes were recorded by roll call and recorded as unanimous yes votes for the listed items. No recorded dissent or abstentions occurred during these actions. The meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
