Mayor Charles Bush read aloud a letter of resignation submitted by Councilmember Chris Kopacz on Feb. 26, 2026. Councilmember Wilson moved to accept Kopacz's resignation; the motion carried 5-0. Council members expressed appreciation for Kopacz's service on the council.
The city will accept letters of interest from residents who wish to apply for the vacant council seat through March 19 at 4:00 p.m. Interviews are scheduled to be held during the budget workshop on March 30, 2026.
