Sanlac County commissioners approve $217,951.89 in claims, budget amendments and several department purchases and agreements

The Sanlac County Board of Commissioners on March 3 approved a series of routine finance and procurement items, including immediate claims, budget amendments and department purchases.
The board approved payment of current accounts payable claims dated Feb. 24, 2026, totaling $217,951.89 (motion FA036-26 by Finance Chair Bill Sarkeella, supported by Commissioner Christine Lee; voice vote carried).
The board next approved budget adoptions, amendments and transfers as listed in FA037-26. It authorized a contract award for replacement flooring in the Health Department clinic area to Flooring Edge Inc. not to exceed $16,250 with funding from the building and grounds budget (FA038-26). The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with the TPOA establishing a 4-day, 32-hour workweek for accounting specialist Gail Mccani (FA039-26).
The board authorized two K9 ownership-transfer agreements (FA040-26 and FA041-26) later in the meeting (see related coverage). It also authorized a one-year subscription for the Gen 911 training tool for dispatchers at a cost not to exceed $5,000 funded from the 911 millage (FA042-26). Finally, Veterans Affairs was authorized to purchase flags and markers from designated vendors at a combined cost not to exceed $7,875.10 with funding from the Veterans Affairs millage (FA043-26). All items carried by voice vote or roll call after motions were offered and supported.
These approvals will be implemented by department managers and the chair was authorized to sign necessary agreements where indicated.
