Commissioners approve claims, budgets, personnel agreements and multiple five-year leases

The Sand Lake County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 approved a broad package of fiscal and administrative measures.
The board approved payment of current accounts payable as listed in the Dec. 10, 2025 accounts-payable report and carried several budget amendments and account establishments. The board approved an itemized list of additional general fund checks charged in November, which the clerk read into the record.
Personnel actions included letters of understanding to hire temporary employees for the prosecutor’s office (terms in the record include hourly-rate caps and annual-hour limits), a second temporary assistant prosecutor arrangement and a reorganization that adjusted pay grades and job descriptions for court-related positions effective Jan. 1, 2026. The board also approved an employment agreement for a soil erosion and sedimentation agent at $30 per hour (not to exceed 14 hours per week for 2026).
Commissioners approved multiple memoranda of understanding to expedite filling vacancies at central dispatch, parks and recreation, the recycling center and the sheriff’s office. The board likewise approved five-year lease agreements (commencing Jan. 1, 2026) for several county facilities, including central dispatch, the drug task force, medical control, Veterans Affairs and the health department.
The board authorized a Brown City abatement and demolition bid not to exceed $22,950 for lead- and mold-abatement work at 4031 Main Street and accepted a 2026 remonumentation grant of $71,665 to complete 50 corners, with specific allocations to county representative and surveyors recorded in the grant documents. The board also approved a one-year Economic Development Corporation agreement not to exceed $45,000 funded from the Environmental Trust Fund.
Most items were approved by voice vote or by the motion-and-support process; where roll calls occurred the clerk recorded them. The measures had been vetted by the finance committee and came to the full board for approval.
