Sand Lake County commissioners approve a package of contracts, purchases and budget actions

The board voted to authorize a purchase of 16 Motorola body cameras, associated hardware, unlimited data storage and AI redaction software from Motorola Solutions at a cost not to exceed $69,900, to be paid from corrections funds with potential partial reimbursement through MMRMA. Commissioners approved the measure by voice vote.
Commissioners also awarded a bid to Thompson Chevrolet of Michigan for a 2026 Chevrolet Traverse LS AWD for the Veterans Transportation Program at a cost not to exceed $41,135, funded from the Veterans Affairs millage. The board approved purchase of a used 2007 Chevrolet Express 3500 15-passenger van (approximately 96,000 miles) from Grab Chevrolet of Sunduski for the inmate work crew program at a cost not to exceed $14,834, funded from the inmate commissary account. The board authorized immediate vehicle acquisition where stock was available.
On facilities and equipment the board authorized repair of the generator at the Emergency Operations and Training Center at a cost not to exceed $15,982.14, with funding from building and grounds. The board also approved a late-filed consent item to sponsor Project Connect: Neighbors Helping Neighbors via Slack County Community Mental Health for calendar years 2025 and 2026, at a cost not to exceed $15,114.38 per year from the Safe Partnership Mill Fund.
Financial and budget items approved included payment of current claims from the accounts payable report dated Nov. 12, 2025 (amount read in the transcript as $89,113.42) and a set of budget amendments, appropriations and transfers as presented by the finance chair. An item to approve additional general-fund checks charged to October 2025 passed, though several numeric line items in the transcript were garbled and could not be reliably transcribed for this report.
