Eliot board accepts $32,500 in grants and approves reserve and carryover spending

At its May 14 meeting the Eliot Select Board accepted two grants totaling $32,500 and approved several fiscal actions to fund town projects and repairs. The board accepted a $10,000 Housing Opportunity Program municipal development grant and a $22,500 Maine Community Resilience Partnership grant and authorized the Town Manager to execute related documents.
The board also approved accessing up to $54,000 from the Public Works reserve fund to purchase equipment and approved carryover of up to $250,000 from the FY2025 Police Department budget for building repairs and equipment. The Town Manager stated that the police carryover funds had been previously budgeted and carried over, so no new taxes would be required.
The board accepted the MSAD No. 35 budget validation referendum warrant for the June 9, 2026 referendum without recommendation and approved payroll and accounts-payable warrants.
