The Eliot Select Board on May 28 completed a performance-based evaluation of Town Manager Michael Sullivan, commending his role in resolving long-standing audit issues, improving cash management and interest revenues, completing major capital projects on budget, modernizing payment systems, and increasing transparency through online document access.
Board members credited Sullivan with keeping budget increases near inflation and improving employee morale and contract processes. The review included recognition of projects such as sewer work and Town Hall improvements and noted operational improvements at the Transfer Station and Boat Basin.
Separately, the board confirmed that the Town Manager retains legal authorization to act on behalf of the Town in legal matters and report back to the Select Board; the affirmation was unanimous but no formal motion was recorded.
