During the May 18 meeting, the Mahnomen City Council approved several small-scale projects and equipment purchases intended to maintain and expand local amenities.
Land use: Council approved a land-use agreement allowing placement of a disc-golf course on a private landowner’s wooded property. The motion was moved by Kelly Phillips and seconded by LuAnn Durant, passing 4-0.
Road work: The city’s engineer reported the county’s contractor will perform milling and overlay on the first 70 feet of Casino Road using the county’s bid prices, with an estimated cost of $3,900. The county will complete the work and invoice the city; the council approved the milling and overlay by unanimous vote.
Facilities and equipment: The council approved a Public Works quote for a hydrant valve adjuster (motion moved by Kelly Phillips, seconded by LuAnn Durant, carried 4-0). A previously listed quote to install bollards at the Mahnomen Fire Hall generator was also approved in meeting materials. These actions aim to address maintenance and safety needs for city infrastructure and public facilities.
All measures passed without dissent.
