The council discussed a Small Cities Development Program (SCDP) grant application for up to $600,000, with the city committing to cover a 10% local match if awarded; the final design will depend on whether grant funding is secured.
The motion to approve the preliminary engineering report and authorize further design was moved by Duane Schouveiller and seconded by LuAnn Durant; the motion carried 5-0.
Council members said extending infrastructure supports future development in and near the industrial park and clarified that urban-style street design will proceed only if SCDP or other funding is obtained.
