The Easton Cemetery Committee finalized plans on April 16 for an April 30 program that will feature guest speaker Keith Stokes. Nanette Dewester, chair of the Cemetery Committee, said committee members will staff the event and that volunteers should arrive by 6:15 p.m.; Deirdra Preis will arrive around 6:00 p.m. and Mr. Stokes is expected about 6:30 p.m.
Deirdra Preis, a committee member, confirmed the committee has secured police coverage for three hours and that a custodian will handle setup and cleanup. Nanette Dewester said she will collect donations at the door and has contacted Danielle at Parks and Rec to obtain a QR code so attendees who prefer to make electronic donations can contribute. Preis said she will bring change and a box for cash donations; Frank Pagliaro will bring an urn of donated coffee from Greiser's.
The committee agreed an on-site school technician will check audio-visual systems. Frank Pagliaro, a committee member, will open the evening with background on the committee and cemetery history; Preis will introduce Stokes and Michael Pappalardo will lead the question-and-answer period and close the program.
The committee asked members to confirm arrival and staffing roles ahead of the event and to ensure publicity channels include the Selectman's newsletter and the new Easton newspaper. The meeting minutes note the group expects the planned logistics to support a timely start and the technical needs of the presentation.
