Scott council approves replacement drug-screening vendor, mutual aid with sheriff, servitude for waterline and contract amendment

Councilman Roy moved to adopt Resolution 2023-46, authorizing the mayor to execute a services agreement with Safety Management Systems, LLC to replace a drug-screening company that closed; the motion passed unanimously. Councilman Montoucet moved to adopt Resolution 2023-47 to authorize a mutual assistance agreement between the Scott Police Department and the Acadia Parish Sheriff Office; Assistant Chief Calhoun explained the agreement will allow the two departments to share services such as security details. That resolution also passed unanimously.
The council adopted Resolution 2023-48 authorizing amendment No. 1 to a contract for engineering services covering public works projects (the minutes record the motion but do not identify which councilman moved it).
